Billy Ray Booth

Billy Ray Booth was born to the parents of Jessie Booth Jr., and Jesse Taylor Booth on July twenty-eighth nineteen hundred forty, in Longview, TX. He departed this life on April eighth two thousand fourteen at Kaiser Hospital in Richmond, CA.

Billy accepted Christ at an early age at Zion Hill Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Heard. He attend local schools in the RUSD also El Cerrito High School.

He had a charismatic, loving personality that was unforgettable. He enjoyed listening to various genres of music. He was a master upholsterer, cabinet maker and restorer. He was the owner-operator of Peoples Choice’s and Thisisit Bar-B-Que Restaurants. For the past thirteen years he barbequed for the Yolo County Multi-Cultural Heritage / Black History Celebration in Guinda, California. He was also quite passionate about cooking.

Billy was the second of five children. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Annie B. Davis; two sons, Billy Jr., and Maceo. Billy leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Rosie; daughters, SFC(R) Robin C. Stone, of Hampton, Georgia; Deirdre D. Davison of Martinez, Georgia; four sons, Quincy (Bridgette) of Goodyear, Arizona, Creighton of Los Angeles, California, Timothy and Cassius both of Richmond, California.

Billy was blessed with eleven grandchildren, one great- grandchild ~ Justin Booth, Billy Booth III, A1C Danny Stone, PFC Durrell Stone, Maciera Booth, Quincy Booth II, Brielle Booth, Makynna Booth, Derrick Davidson, Demeadra Obi, Dekira Obi, Janiyah Elmore. Two sisters – Earline Goodman of Memphis, Tennessee, Zelma Holmes of Jackson, Georgia. One brother, Charles (Delores) of Salem, Oregon. Also aunts, uncles, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
